Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a senior technical engineer to provide direction on complex highway and transportation projects in the Newark, NJ area. You will lead technical reviews, mentor staff, and support proposal development while aligning with industry standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering with extensive experience (or higher degrees) and a PE certification. Experience with InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D is preferred, with a focus on delivering high-quality designs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 11+ years, or PhD with 10+ years.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
  • Experience on large, complex transportation projects and leading technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Performs independent technical reviews and provides guidance on complex projects.
  • Mentors production staff and supports project leadership with technical expertise.
  • Supports marketing activities, including proposals on complex projects within discipline.
  • Coordinates technical aspects with client counterparts and teaming partners.

Responsible for applying advanced engineering methods, techniques, and analyses to provide solutions, make recommendations and resolve issues. Ensures industry and HNTB standards of design are applied consistently and effectively across projects ranging in discipline, size and complexity. Independently applies knowledge and experience in partnership with internal project team members and external client counterparts. Serves as an advisor on complex projects to provide technical designs, plans and specificationsWhat You'll Do:Performs independent technical reviews, makes recommendations, and provides technical guidance as requested on complex or unusual engineering projects.
