LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager for energy-sector, multidisciplinary engineering projects from conception through construction.

You will coordinate with clients, contractors, and discipline leads to ensure delivery, quality, and safety across multiple active projects. This role demands strong leadership, communication, and budget management, plus the ability to manage schedules and client relationships while upholding client standards and QA/QC.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of multidisciplinary engineering project experience in oil and gas.
• Strong familiarity with P&IDs, PFDs, site planning, equipment specification, and construction packages.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client and project-team relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, bidding, and execution of midstream projects.
• Provide bid phase support including proposals and planning.
• Manage technical construction activities and RFIs.
• Oversee QA/QC on engineering packages and document coordination.
• Review drawings for client standards and quality.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to hit milestones.
• Compile final engineering packages and records.
• Maintain open client communication and represent LJA in meetings/site visits.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Senior Project Manager at LJA Energy, you will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary engineering projects in the oil and gas sector, ensuring successful project delivery from conception through construction. You will coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and discipline leads to oversee project execution, quality control, and technical compliance. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships across multiple active projects.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Leading the discovery, bidding, and execution of midstream engineering projects across a range of facility types.
• Providing bid phase assistance to clients, including proposal development, cost estimation, and project planning.
• Managing technical construction activities and responding to requests for information (RFIs).
• Overseeing QA/QC on engineering packages, including specification review, comment incorporation, and full document coordination.
• Reviewing and approving drawing packages, verifying compliance with client standards, and ensuring quality deliverables.
• Coordinating with internal engineering disciplines and external stakeholders to achieve project milestones and objectives.
• Compiling final engineering packages for distribution and record documentation.
• Maintaining open communication with clients and representing LJA professionally during meetings, presentations, and site visits.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Alabama, or ability to obtain licensure within two years.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10-15 years of experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects in the oil and gas sector.
• Strong familiarity with P&IDs, PFDs, facility site planning, equipment specification and procurement, and construction package assembly.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience leading midstream infrastructure projects such as compressor stations, terminals, or pipeline facilities.
• Demonstrated success in business development or client growth initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and profitability.
