Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Sr. BRT Design Project Manager for the Boston, MA and Washington DC offices. You will act as a technical expert on Bus Rapid Transit projects from concept to construction and lead project management for medium to large programs, including scope, schedule, and budget.

Travel may be required to support national BRT efforts. You will collaborate with local offices, coordinate with agencies, and contribute to business growth through proposals and marketing support,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar designation.
• 12+ years of experience in Corridor development, Transit projects, or equivalent.
• Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) experience.
• PE license required.
• Experience working with Agencies on transit projects.
• Experience with public meetings and knowledge of City neighborhoods, community groups, and elected leadership.
• Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to policies.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering.
• Preferred: Direct experience with BRT.
• Preferred: PTOE.

Responsibilities

• Provide Project Management on medium to large-size projects with contract negotiation and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support larger projects as a Program Manager, Project Manager, Task Manager, or Segment Manager.
• Aid local offices pursuing or delivering BRT projects nationally with technical expertise, including travel.
• Demonstrate skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication.
• Assist in growing the business by building relationships, writing marketing proposals, and providing BD support.
• Management of technical staff.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP’s policies.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar designation.
• 12+ plus years of experience in Corridor development, Transit projects, or equivalent.
• Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Experience.
• PE license required
• Experience working with Agencies on transit projects.
• Experience with public meetings and knowledge of City neighborhoods, community groups, and elected leadership.
• Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Engineering
• Direct experience with BRT
• PTOE
• Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $150,000-$250,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
