Job description

Atlas is looking for a Sr. Project Manager - Building Sciences (IH Industrial Hygienist 4) to join our West Springfield, MA team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Manage mold, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and other building science-related projects in various settings.
  2. Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments including air-sampling pumps, real-time air monitoring equipment, moisture meters, IR cameras, and calibrators.
  3. Provide leadership, training and support to all levels of the organization.
  4. Able to oversee junior staff, subcontractors, and multiple projects in a professional and efficient manner.
  5. Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives in a professional manner.
  6. Effectively communicate with direct supervisor and other Atlas team members.
  7. Read and understand project specifications, sampling methodologies, and building drawings.
  8. Prepare budgets, technical proposals and reports and provide related quality assurance/quality control.
  9. Ensure projects are completed safely in a timely manner and within budget constraints of the project.
  10. Abide by Atlas' health and safety policies and procedures.
  11. Approval to drive a company car or rental vehicles – valid Driver’s License and ability to pass an MVR.
  12. Ability to occasionally work off-hours and weekends (20-30% of time).
  13. Regional (New England & Northeast New York) travel is required. Out of region travel typically less than 10% but opportunities are available, if interested in traveling outside of region.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in science-related field preferred, but not required.
  2. 10-15 years of experience in building sciences.
  3. Additional experience in lieu of degree considered.
  4. Experience with asbestos, mold, and lead related projects required.
  5. Must have a valid Driver’s License, ability to pass a Driver Background Check, and have reliable transportation.
  6. Ability to pass a Background Check for work with state and local governments along with defense contractor clients.
  7. Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
  8. Must be able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment as needed.
  9. Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills required.
  10. Proven effective management skills required.
  11. Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Technical Requirements

  1. Asbestos, lead, and/or mold licenses or training required.
  2. Microsoft Office experience required.
  3. Experienced in writing comprehensive technical reports and proposals.
  4. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations applicable to asbestos, lead, indoor air quality and industrial hygiene services required.
