American Airlines is seeking a Sr Project Manager for Baggage Planning and Strategy at the DFW headquarters in Fort Worth, TX. You will drive long-term initiatives, engage with internal stakeholders, and coordinate across departments to improve baggage performance and operations.

The role sits within the Airports Excellence group and emphasizes executive-level content support, meetings, and robust project plans. A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in airlines are required.

• Play a key role in leading a variety of long term strategy initiatives within Airports. This will include a high level of engagement with internal stakeholders and field operations to deliver initiatives that support our customers and team members worldwide.
• This role will provide executive level content support, meeting facilitation, airport alignment to company’s goals, providing expertise and resource to support key initiatives, identifying and framing issues, driving decisions, and building project plans and monitoring execution.

• Synthesize business problems for senior leaders, identify strategic options, define outcomes and gain consensus among leaders
• Represent airport operations in planning and implementation of a wide range of projects that lead to better bag performance
• Coordinate initiatives within the team and across various departments to ensure efficiency and consistency of execution through the promotion of best practices
• Ensure clarity of business requirements from stakeholders to enable proper planning and design of new initiatives
• Participate in project meetings, provides strategic and analytical support, and manages project progress, issues, and risks
• Partner with the larger Airports Excellence organization to ensure consistency and efficient use of resources across the organization
• Provides strategic thought leadership in support of airport operation

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
• 3+ years of professional experience in the airline industry
