Polk Mechanical is looking for a Project Manager to join ourhigh performingteam. This role will provide overall management direction for a project or group of projects and will performadditionalduties that include procuring equipment and subcontracts,monitoringand accurately projecting job costs,maintainingbilling and schedules and providing technical support and leadership to the field.Additionalresponsibilities include providing production oversight with the project’s Superintendent on the day-to-day activities of assigned projects. The Project Manager will also develop andmaintainlong termcustomer relationships to foster better communications and develop future work.
Job Description

- Ultimately responsiblefor quality projects being built on time and withinbudget
- Reviews project estimates andverifiesaccuracy of entry into job cost system as well as accuracy ofinitialestimate
- Conducts pre-job and continuing planning meetings to ensure all project team members understand contract terms and conditions, clauses,schedulesor any unusual requirements of theproject
- Documents planning meeting results andensuresall action items are completed. Develops and keeps current all projectschedules
- Monitors personnel manning schedules to ensure they match projectschedules
- Establishes and executes subcontract and equipment buy-outs to support schedules andfunding
- Visitsjob sites or onsite offices daily. Performs work inspections, checks job progress, and resolves project and contractissues
- Investigates potentially serious job issues and implements correctivemeasures
- Stays on top of all scope changes to ensure they are processed and incorporated into the current scope of workin a timelymanner
- Provides material takeoff, estimate and pricing for changes to workscope
- Conducts and attends job meetings according to customer and company guidelines andschedules
Requirements
- 10 years minimum of relevant work experience managing mechanical construction projects isrequired. Renovation work experience is aplus
- Negotiating experience in construction change orders and project presentations isrequired
- Ability to solve complex, multi-faceted problems using various problem-solvingtechniques
- Good written and oral communications skills and polished presentation skills
- Ability to interpret contractual documents, plans, specifications, schematicdiagramsand isometricdrawings
- Proficiencyat both technical and business letter writing
- Proficiencywith computerized job cost accounting systems
- Proficiencyutilizingthe Microsoft Office suite, with testable skill at the intermediate level in Excel aminimum
- Understanding of financial models used in fixed price, cost plus and unit rate/pricecontracting
- Normally works out of a job trailer or at an on-site/offsite office setting. Walks the jobsite on a regular basis and as a result requires the ability to physically negotiate the hazards of a new project worksite/work areas (e.g.uneven surfaces, floor openings, heights, installationdebrisand poor lighting)
- Ability to bereasonably on-callas necessary to support the on-going 24/7 operations of our clients which may include evenings,weekendsand someholidays
- Ability to be on the job site daily to check progress, inspect work and conduct meetings to resolveissue
