Job summary

Moog is seeking a Sr Project Engineer, Test Equipment in the Space & Defense Group in East Aurora, NY to design and develop hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic test equipment that tests Moog products. You will lead development of new test assemblies meeting cost, schedule, and performance goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • 3 years of leading technical projects or initiatives.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated understanding in design, analysis, development and production of complex electromechanical hardware.
  • Self-starting instincts and strong analytical skills for new product design.
  • Experience with component design, development and verification testing.
  • Ability to communicate technical and programmatic information and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor engineering project budgets and schedules.
  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by trade studies and analyses.
  • Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and write the technical volume.
  • Lead a team of creative, independent engineers.
  • Coordinate and support assembly of test equipment.
  • Mentor younger engineers as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for test equipment design and requirements validation.
  • Provide technical leadership within Moog's program scope.

Onsite - Buffalo, NY As a Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment in our Space & Defense Group in East Aurora, NY you will be responsible for design and development of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic components and systems that will be used to test the products of Moog, Inc. This position is responsible for design and development of new test equipment, assemblies, and/or processes to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.

To be considered for the Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • 3 years of leading technical projects or technical initiatives
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated understanding achieved through experience in the design, analysis, development and production of complex electromechanical hardware.
  • Self-starting instincts and strong analytical skills, both required to fulfill the demands of design and development of new products.
  • Experience with component design, development and verification testing.
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical and programmatic information and to manage competing priorities of multiple stakeholders.
As a Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment, you will :
  • Establish and monitor engineering project budgets and schedules.
  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
  • Prepare successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and shoulder the responsibility for writing the technical volume.
  • Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.
  • Coordinate and support the assembly of test equipment.
  • Mentor younger engineers where and when appropriate.
  • Work closely with the internal program teams to provide the design of specialized test equipment, systems architecture and interface definition, and requirements validation.
  • Lead the design process and provide technical leadership within Moog's program scope.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $115,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
