This opportunity involves leading the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. The role requires consulting with project managers, applying engineering techniques, developing conceptual and detailed designs, and mentoring junior staff. The position is a leadership role, overseeing project delivery and guiding team members.

What You'll Do
  • Utilize senior-level technical expertise to evaluate engineering solutions.
  • Lead planning, work distribution, and adherence to schedules and budgets on complex projects.
  • Assist in marketing efforts, including proposal development.
  • Define scope of work, manage efforts, and oversee project team work within the technical discipline.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and review work of team members.
  • Coordinate with clients and partners on technical aspects of projects.
  • Lead discipline delivery on large, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Manage staffing, schedules, and work distribution for projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree with 7 years, or
  • PhD with 6 years of relevant experience.
What You'll Bring
  • Expertise in designing and engineering rail signal systems, including circuit design and logic programming.
  • Experience managing complex engineering projects.
  • Strong collaboration skills with various engineering disciplines.
  • Mentoring skills and a passion for team development.
  • Ability to develop and analyze transit signal systems and produce detailed technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interaction and technical presentations.
  • Proficiency in project management, risk mitigation, and quality control.
  • Experience with system engineering and field support activities.
  • Adaptability to additional tasks and responsibilities.
What We Prefer
  • Master’s in Electrical or related engineering fields.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
  • Leadership experience and knowledge of industry standards like FRA, AREMA, and M.U.T.C.D.
  • Proficiency with vital/non-vital logic programming, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and simulation tools.
  • Strong communication skills and familiarity with network systems and modern signaling concepts.
