Job summary

AE2S, an award-winning civil/environmental engineering firm, seeks a Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead project teams and deliver high-quality water engineering projects on time and on budget. The role requires PE eligibility within 6 months and 4+ years of municipal water experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with focus on water markets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services for water engineering projects from planning to construction administration.
  • Lead and manage Project Engineers, Junior Engineers and Technicians.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships; pursue new project opportunities.
  • Ensure quality control and budget/schedule adherence for projects.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings and mentorship for team members.

Our growth has created an exciting opportunity for individuals wanting to go beyond an ordinary career while working in an award-winningculture alongside an empowered team of Employee-Owners!The Senior Project Engineer / Project Managerwill beresponsible for the performance of project team members and will work closely with team members to provide high-quality deliverables on time and on budget to AE2S clients.


Responsibilities


  • Provide professional services for water engineering projects to include planning, study, design, and construction administration on projects

  • Manage performance of assigned project team members including Project Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Technicians

  • Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients

  • Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities

  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work

  • Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings

  • Provide mentorship for team members.


Qualifications

Basic Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months

  • 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering, with a strong interest in the water market sector (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development

  • Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members

  • Knowledge of design standards and permitting

  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in municipal water engineering (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)

  • Knowledge of project financials & funding programs


Physical Qualifications


  • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain

  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time

  • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist

  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

  • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited toflame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear

  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload

  • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
