Position Overview

At Polaris Inc., we have fun doing what we love by driving change and innovation. We empower employees to take on challenging assignments and roles with an elevated level of responsibility in our agile working environment. Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.

You will lead and govern modularity strategies across ORV platforms, helping reduce product complexity through part reduction, reuse, simplification, and standardized interfaces. You will lead cross-functional teams responsible for developing and implementing modularity kits while balancing implementation targets, cost, platform requirements, and business needs. You will partner with product, sourcing, operations, finance, design, and subject matter experts to align on key decisions, resolve issues, and govern part variants throughout the kit lifecycle. This role provides an opportunity to influence platform-level solutions and drive meaningful complexity reduction across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple small- to medium-scale modularity kits and plans, with accountability for successful development, implementation, adherence, and sunsetting of part variants.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve variant reduction and reuse goals while meeting implementation targets, cost objectives, and platform requirements.
  • Drive part reduction, simplification, reuse, and development of standardized interfaces across modularity efforts.
  • Partner with kit subject matter experts and product, sourcing, operations, finance, and design stakeholders to establish, communicate, and govern part variants.
  • Own key decisions that drive kit and platform solutions, including necessary trade-offs to support successful implementation.
  • Monitor kit completion, coordinate activities across team members, resolve issues, and maintain alignment throughout development and implementation.
  • Own and maintain business cases supporting kit development.
  • Lead full-day, in-person workshops with cross-functional kit teams.
  • Coach and develop subject matter experts to take ownership of assigned kits and their results.
  • Motivate and align team members and stakeholders whose contributions affect program success.
Desired Competencies
  • Leadership: You inspire, guide, and empower others to achieve their best by setting clear direction, fostering trust, and creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated, and accountable for delivering results.
  • Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.
  • Business Acumen: You understand how your work impacts financial performance, operational efficiency, and organizational goals, and you make decisions with the broader business context in mind.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of project leadership or engineering project leadership experience in a similar industry.
  • In place of industry experience, applicable internships, co-ops, and student led programs (SAE or similar) can be substituted.
  • Experience applying project management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and build effective working relationships with peers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong project planning, organization, and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to understand how program objectives, tools, and resources intersect across functions and use that understanding to support effective decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions while maintaining a focus on quality and customer needs.
  • Ability to remain productive and constructive while working under pressure.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to manufacturing facilities and suppliers.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
