Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead civil and structural engineering projects within the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will have over four years of experience managing midstream installations, demonstrating expertise from project inception through to construction completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the discovery, bidding, and execution phases of midstream oil and gas projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support during the bid phase, including responding to RFIs and assisting with construction management.
  • Oversee projects from concept development through engineering package distribution and construction, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, managing change proposals, and preparing record drawings.
  • Delegate design and drafting tasks to team members, serving as the Engineer of Record by affixing PE stamp and signature on direct projects.
  • Participate in front-end project planning, developing project-specific technical design basis manuals, and identifying discipline deliverables.
  • Coordinate and monitor civil/structural work activities, setting priorities and adjusting workloads as necessary.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of ACI 318, ASCE 7, ACI, and the AISC Steel Construction Manual in project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, API recommended practices, and ASTM codes and standards.
  • Prepare structural calculations for concrete and steel structures, including equipment foundations and support structures.
  • Interpret geotechnical investigation reports to determine appropriate foundation types.
  • Develop civil site requirements such as site layout, grading, drainage, and paving designs.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Check comprehensive civil/structural drawing packages, including site plans, foundation plans, and detail drawings.
  • Understand and apply project specifications related to civil and structural disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas; additional state licenses are a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing civil/structural engineering projects, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Basic understanding of P&IDs and PFDs.
  • Familiarity with facility site planning and construction package assembly.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members.
