Job summary

General Mills in the United States is seeking a Lead Engineer for Capital Projects at the Buffalo site, responsible for scope development, cost estimation, system design, equipment sizing and selection, procurement, installation, check-out and start-up. • Experience working with plant technicians, leadership staff, outside vendors, and managing contractors and engineering firms.
• Demonstrated skills in executing several large concurrent assignments with emphasis on project management, productivity and innovation.
• Working knowledge of packaging systems, plant manufacturing, engineering, quality and research functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead system design standards development for divisional unit operations, including improvements to existing standards using appropriate technical evaluation and oversight.
• Maintain engineering interface with business unit team – maintain close working relationship with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations leadership, and financial operations.
• Offer production support and troubleshooting assistance to Engineers, Maintenance, and Line Teams.
• Provide innovative technical solutions required to meet business objectives with emphasis on productivity.
• Lead annual capital planning process for the Packaging Department, including Long Range Plans for obsolescence, Packaging Innovation, and Growth.

OVERVIEW

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of project engineering experience in Manufacturing
• Bachelor’sof Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience.
• Experience working with plant technicians, leadership staff, outside vendors, and managing contractors and engineering firms.
• Demonstrated skills in executing several large concurrent assignments with emphasis on project management,productivityand innovation.
• Working knowledge of packaging systems, plant manufacturing, engineering,qualityand research functions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with continuous improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma, TPM, or related processes
• Construction management experience
• 5+ years of relevant food manufacturing and engineering experience.
• Understanding of Food Manufacturing Regulatory requirements (GMP, EPA, OSHA)

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is:

$95,300 - $143,200 Annual
