Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Texas to lead capital expansion projects, including cleanrooms, aseptic filling, and utilities, with onsite and remote coordination during milestones.

The role requires 5–10+ years of capital project or construction management experience in pharma or life sciences manufacturing, with proven budgeting and change control skills. Onsite 3 days, remote 2 days, duration 24+ months, W2 contract with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5–10+ years in capital projects or construction management.
• Experience in pharma or life sciences manufacturing with fill/finish, packaging, cleanrooms, or aseptic processes.
• Experience managing projects valued at $10M+.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital expansion projects including cleanrooms, aseptic filling, and packaging equipment.
• Coordinate multiyear capital programs with internal teams and external A&E and contractors.
• Ensure commissioning, qualification, validation and GMP turnover milestones are met.

Job description

Location: Waco, TX 76712 onsite 3 days a week and 2 days remote with five-day onsite presence is required during critical project milestones

Duration: 24+ months

I am looking for a Senior Project Engineer to lead capital expansion projects involving cleanrooms, aseptic filling and packaging equipment, clean and black utilities, HVAC, laboratories, and pharmaceutical facility renovations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science degree or diploma in Engineering, Science, Production, Construction Management or a related technical discipline
• 5-10+ years of capital project or construction management experience
• Experience in Pharmaceutical, life sciences, or food & dairy regulated manufacturing with Fill-finish, packaging-equipment, cleanroom, or aseptic manufacturing experience
• Experience managing projects valued at $10M+
• Capital budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, scheduling, and change control
• Experience managing A&E firms, construction teams, vendors, and contractors
• Commissioning, qualification, validation, and GMP turnover knowledge
• Strong project management and communication skills
