Job summary

Husco International, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to deliver on customer specifications and drive 1-2 applications from prototype to production.

You will lead supplier development, pilot build, and production launch, guiding the program through continuous improvement and on-time delivery. The successful candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, 7+ years of relevant experience, and a hands-on leadership style to motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Seven years of experience including demonstrated ability to create, develop, and implement new product or operations concepts.
  • Strong understanding of technical methods, mechanical engineering principles and systems.
  • Experience in completing customer applications and managing projects.
  • Previous experience in product design, verification testing, supplier development, and customer support.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic control systems and their applications.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Own Product Launch: Work closely with a team on 1-2 committed customer applications. Follow project from prototype build and verification testing through production launch. Own supplier development, pilot build, production line development and launch, program launch, and overall ongoing program continuous improvement support. Plan, schedule, and control projects to meet established objectives for quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Maintain Design Control of Assigned Product(s): Understand form, fit, and function of product and all components thereof. Leverage understanding to optimize assigned product. Analyze the impact of changes on existing productions or operations and assess the compatibility with goals in all areas. Analyze the cost effectiveness and feasibility. Maintain prints, specifications, and documents to communicate function, form, and fit of assigned product and components for internal and external customers.
  • Provide Exemplary Customer Service and Communication: Project Engineers will work closely with customers during project launch to execute requests, respond to questions and build collaboration across teams (both internal and external) as necessary. Analyze and resolve problems and provide technical assistance as necessary. Implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Supervise and Develop Employees: Direct Design and Project Engineering team to ensure timely and successful completion of projects and new product introductions in accordance with responsibilities. Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments. Attract, retain, and develop employees through training, counseling, disciplining, and responding to employee ideas or concerns.

As a Sr. Project Engineer with Husco, you will be responsible for delivering on customer specifications for an entire project. Sr. Project Engineers collaborate internally with multi-disciplined teams to launch production of state-of-the-art solutions for Husco and their customers. A successful Sr. Project Engineer is hands-on and has strong technical and mechanical background. They possess the ability to motivate, develop, and coach a team.

  • Possess a strong understanding of technical methods, mechanical engineering principles and systems
  • Experience in completing customer applications and managing projects
  • Previous experience doing product design, verification testing, supplier development, and customer support
  • Knowledge of hydraulic control systems and their applications
  • Authorized to work in the United States
