Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Senior Project Designer in Owatonna, MN. The role involves coordinating across design, engineering, manufacturing, project management, sales, and installation teams to drive design oversight, drawing review, and project documentation.

This position requires 5+ years in product/project design and a strong grasp of DFMs, BOMs, and drawing interpretation. Hybrid schedule with in-office Mon/Thu and remote Tue/Fri is offered.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college certificate in Mechanical Drafting or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years' product and/or project design experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years' design-for-manufacturing (DFM) experience.
• Experience creating Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing methods and limitations.
• Expert ability to interpret architectural and mechanical drawings/blueprints.
• Experience with drawing development, dimensioning, tolerancing, and material selection.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout project execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide design oversight and participate in drawing reviews for complex projects.
• Develop and manage 3D models and detailed drawings.
• Support manufacturing with technical guidance and problem resolution.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation and BOMs for handover.

Summary

Seeking a Senior Project Designer to support complex product and project design initiatives while ensuring effective coordination across design, engineering, manufacturing, project management, sales, and installation teams. This role is responsible for design oversight, drawing review, project documentation, manufacturing support, 3D modeling, and technical problem resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility.

Required / Mandatory Skills
