Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Cost Specialist to drive cost visibility and forecasting on complex EPC projects in North America. The role combines budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive reporting across energy infrastructure initiatives.

The position is remote initially with a transition to an in-office role in Pittsburgh, PA, and requires up to 15% domestic travel.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of project cost control or project controls in EPC, utilities, or energy infrastructure.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE/EcoSys/Procore preferred.
• Ability to translate complex cost data into actionable insights for leaders.

Responsibilities

• Track, analyze, and control costs across EPC energy and utility projects.
• Monitor budgets, actuals, forecasts, and cost trends for multi-year programs.
• Develop EAC/ETC forecasts and apply Earned Value Management where applicable.

Senior Cost Specialist

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Join our growing Pittsburgh team! This position will be remote initially as we complete our new office, then transition to an in-office role once the location is ready. Candidates must already be based in the Pittsburgh area.

Travel: Up to 15% domestic travel

As a Sr. Cost Specialist at QISG, you’ll play a critical role on our Project Controls team, driving cost visibility and financial performance across complex utility, power generation, and renewable energy EPC projects. You’ll own budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and executive reporting — helping project teams make informed decisions and successfully deliver large-scale infrastructure projects across North America.

What You'll Do

• Track, analyze, and control costs across complex EPC energy and utility projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility construction.
• Monitor project budgets, actuals, forecasts, and cost trends across multi-year projects.
• Develop and maintain EAC and ETC forecasts to support accurate project projections.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles (highly preferred) to assess performance and identify cost and schedule variances.

• Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to align cost performance with project execution.
• Prepare clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for project and leadership teams.
• Support Project Controls Execution Plans and ensure compliance with company processes and standards.
• Use JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for cost tracking, analysis, and reporting.
• Serve as a trusted cost control resource and contribute to continuous process improvement.

What You'll Bring

• 6+ years of project cost control or project controls experience in EPC, construction, utilities, or energy infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis.
• Experience supporting project-based capital programs; manufacturing or corporate accounting experience alone is not a fit.
• Advanced Excel skills, ERP: JDE and/or EcoSys,Procore preferred.
• Ability to turn complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for Project Managers and leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically.
