Job description

Sr Program Manager, North America Selection Strategy

Job ID: 10536436 | Amazon.com Services LLC

The Sr. Program Manager for NAS Selection owns the end-to-end program cadence and operational mechanisms that drive selection strategy across North America Retail. This role operates within a VP-level organization, coordinating across 6+ VP organizations and multiple category and technology teams to deliver selection coverage, competitive benchmarking, and gap-closure outcomes at scale.

Key job responsibilities
  • Program Ownership: Own the lifecycle of complex, cross-functional selection programs, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), sprint planning, and Subject Matter Expert coordination. Author QBR narratives and present findings to L10+ leadership.
  • Cross-Org Coordination: Align priorities, secure commitments, and drive execution across 6+ VP organizations, category teams, and technology partners. Negotiate resources and unblock teams to increase speed of delivery.
  • Strategic Initiative Management: Own flagship strategic goals (e.g., Key SIC competitive coverage), converting goals from red to green through stakeholder influence, data-driven strategy, and systematic execution.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Identify, design, and implement mechanisms that move work from manual tracking to automated remediation (e.g., CBR methodology automation, SIC integration into RBS automation). Streamline and simplify processes for predictable delivery.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Define and maintain P0 metrics, establish data quality standards, and build audit mechanisms to track program health and selection outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Drive detailed discussions and high-level alignment with leadership, category teams, and tech partners. Produce clear, concise documents (narratives, status reports, PR/FAQs). Contribute to OP1/OP2.
A day in the life

Your morning starts by assessing priorities and keeping the right people aligned on milestones. By mid-morning, you're leading cross-org syncs, aligning teams on sprint priorities and clearing the path forward. Afternoons shift to writing mode, shaping QBR docs, pulling metrics, and pressure-testing your narrative before it reaches senior leadership. The rest of your day moves between strategic work (like scoping a new automation) and tactical follow-through (confirming timelines, tightening definitions). No two days look the same, but this role always comes back to influencing without authority, writing clearly through ambiguity, and driving programs toward measurable outcomes.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience in verbal and written communication for executive level leaders
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience in automation or monitoring frameworks, deployment or development
  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
