We are hoping you will join us as a Sr. Program Manager, Behavioral Health (Program Manager Sr.) and help shape the future of healthcare where you’ll be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Integration team, helping to strive for excellence while we serve our member health with dignity, respecting the value and needs of each of our members through collaboration with our providers, community partners and local stakeholders. You will be responsible for the management of new program development and integration, which includes coordination, implementation and successful execution of multiple behavioral health (BH) programs and initiatives. You will work under the direction of the Sr Manager, Behavioral Health and other Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) department leadership to support new BH initiatives and regulatory requirements for CalOptima Health. You will also participate in cross‑functional workgroups, projects and other assignments in the BHI department including those relating to department efficiency to ensure department strategic objectives and initiatives are met. Together, we are building a stronger, more equitable health system.

Your Contributions To the Team
  • 90% ‐ Program Management
    • Participates in a mission driven culture of high‑quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
    • Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short and long‑term goals/priorities for the department.
    • Leads program and project development activities for various BH programs and initiatives.
    • Identifies and leads implementation of BH process improvements.
    • Creates and updates project plans, develops and maintains process flows, maintains project related materials (e.g., action plans, intervention logs, tracking and trending) and other project related tasks as necessary.
    • Assists with the collection, monitoring and analysis of BH program implementation, quality indicators and activities.
    • Collaborates within the team and larger BH business department in the review and development of workflows, procedures and policies and recommends or changes to ensure timely, efficient and effective outputs.
    • Analyzes metrics for trends and variables and identifies areas for improvement.
    • Collaborates with department analyst or other identified BH team member/s in the development of outcome reports for programs/projects supported by the department.
    • Coordinates with external stakeholders related to projects and/or programs.
    • Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulations or clinical guidelines related to program and project development.
  • 10% ‐ Other
    • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
Do You Have What the Role Requires?
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or a related field PLUS 4 years of experience in new program and/or project development for vulnerable populations, including strategic planning for a start‑up program and implementing the program required; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above may also be qualifying.
  • 2 years of experience and aptitude for working in a highly matrixed, mission‑driven organization required.
You\'ll Stand Out More If You Possess the Following:
  • Master's degree in health administration, social work, marriage and family therapy, public health or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • 4 years of experience working in a managed care environment with specific experience in BH program and project management.
  • Experience in a government or public environment.

  • Our current hiring range is: Pay Grade: 313 ‐ $90,820 ‐ $145,312 ($43.66 ‑ $69.8615).
  • The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
  • This position is approved for Full Telework (If the position is Telework, it is eligible in California only).
