Job description

Sr Program Manager – Analytics & Insights, WWGS Pricing, Data & Analytics

Job ID: 10534280 | Amazon.com Services LLC

As a Sr Program Manager, you will lead analytics initiatives across World Wide Grocery Stores (WWGS), with a primary focus on supporting Culinary teams and Private Brands insights. You will own the end-to-end insights process — translating ambiguous business questions and disparate data sets into clear, actionable recommendations — while also supporting cross-banner ad-hoc analytics needs as they arise. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, can independently structure complex analytical programs, and has the ability to “tell a story” through white paper–level analytic recommendations that influence senior leadership decisions. With a strong program management foundation, deep analytical expertise, and knowledge of the grocery retail landscape, you will operate at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and cross-functional leadership.

Key job responsibilities
  • Leads Culinary insights program, serving as the primary analytics partner by structuring analytical approaches where data sources may be ambiguous, incomplete, or non-standard to generate actionable business recommendations.
  • Supports cross-banner ad-hoc analytics across WWGS banners (Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and others) as business needs arise. This includes Private Brands support where needed.
  • Authors white paper–level analytic recommendations that synthesize complex, multi-source analyses into compelling, executive-ready narratives for senior leadership.
  • Manages full lifecycle of insights programs, including cross-category insights, ad-hoc analyses, and strategic deep-dives, ensuring timely delivery aligned with business priorities.
  • Translates stakeholder business questions into analyses that inform decisions, partnering cross-functionally across the analytics organization (assortment, pricing, promotion, category management, etc.).
  • Establishes frameworks and repeatable processes in areas where data, processes, or business questions are not well-defined — particularly within Culinary and Private Brands.
Skills
  • Ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in ambiguous environments.
  • Proficiency with ambiguous or incomplete data sets; able to structure analytical approaches that yield actionable insights.
  • Experience authoring strategic, executive-level analytical documents (e.g., white papers) that influence senior leadership decisions.
  • Expertise with large enterprise databases and data query tools to prepare and analyze data across disparate sources.
  • Strong understanding of the grocery retail landscape, customer trends, and retail operations.
  • Communicates complex information clearly and concisely; tailors approach to specific situations and audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Able to effectively lead meetings, present information, and influence decisions across all levels of the organization.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, macros, SQL, visualization tools - Tableau, Quicksight, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: quantitative/financial analysis, program/project management, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, category management, pricing, marketing, or e-commerce
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional programs or projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • Knowledge of general AI tools
  • Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions
