Job Summary

This position will lead and support Indirect sourcing, contracting, and procurement strategies across multiple Indirect categories. This role will own the development of category strategies that translate business priorities, market dynamics, supplier capabilities, and enterprise value opportunities into actionable procurement plans.

Job Responsibilities
Category Management & Leadership
  • Lead the development and execution of category plans and global sourcing strategies leveraging industry trends, market insights, spend analytics, and stakeholder priorities. Develop multi-year category roadmaps, including supplier segmentation, demand-management opportunities, standardization, rationalization, and preferred-supplier strategies.
  • Align procurement goals with business objectives and operational needs. Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders by challenging demand, shaping requirements, and translating business strategies into category strategies.
  • Establish category governance routines, including stakeholder alignment forums, category reviews, pipeline management, benefits tracking, and compliance to preferred supplier and buying-channel strategies.
Cost & Performance Management
  • Ensure cost-effective buying channels & strategies are in place for assigned spend categories
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on savings, efficiencies, supplier performance, and value delivery. Measure total cost of ownership, cost avoidance, risk reduction, working capital impact, service quality, supplier innovation, and contract compliance.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial metrics for assigned categories.
Risk Management
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans. Monitor supplier market conditions, inflationary pressures, capacity constraints, geopolitical risk, business continuity exposure, and other external factors that may impact category strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety, quality, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Ensured compliance with contractual obligations and applicable trade regulations
Sourcing & Contracting
  • Lead sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ), including bid evaluation, supplier selection, and award recommendations. Use market intelligence, benchmarking, should-cost analysis, and supplier capability assessments to inform sourcing strategies and negotiation plans.
  • Negotiate complex contracts and statements of work (SOW) in collaboration with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to company policies
Supplier Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers
  • Lead business reviews with key suppliers to assess performance, service levels, and align future goals, initiatives, and continuous improvement opportunities. Build supplier governance models that drive accountability, innovation, issue resolution, continuous improvement, and measurable value beyond price.
Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to proactively identify needs, resolve issues, and improve service levels. Influence stakeholders without direct authority to drive alignment of category strategies, preferred suppliers, and procurement policy.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align supplier capabilities with business needs and strategic goals.
    Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders (e.g., Supply Chain, Finance, Legal) and the supply base.
Process Improvement
  • Indirect procurement process ownership and implementation of best practices. Leverage spend analytics, supplier performance data, contract data to identify opportunities, manage category pipelines, and validate value delivery.
  • Benchmark supplier performance against industry standards and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and service enhancement through supplier collaboration.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Education Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
Experience Requirements
Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Sourcing and category management experience with demonstrated ownership of category strategies, supplier market analysis, stakeholder governance, demand management, and value creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring alignment with service level agreements and cost targets
  • Track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities as well as broader value levers, including cost avoidance, total cost of ownership improvement, risk mitigation, supplier innovation, and working capital improvement.
  • Exposure to a global supply base
Skills
  • Works independently, needing guidance only on the most complex situations. Able to lead enterprise initiatives and influence cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
