SUMMARY:
This position is responsible to:
- Assist in controlling expenses
- Provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements
- Interpret and enforce company policies
- Maintain non-union program
- Assist in the determination of manpower needs and make recommendations
- Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately
- Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow-up
- Work with department heads to meet production quality yields goals and metrics goals
- Ensure the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product
- Inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety
- Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors
- Oversee all designated shift operations and any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years of related industry experience
- 5+ years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility (pork or beef preferred)
- Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HAACP regulations

Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train team members

- Monitor and appraise work performance
- Reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members
- Address complaints and resolve problems
