How You’ll Make An Impact
- Understand all applicable processes, equipment and control technologies.
- Work with technical experts and plant personnel to optimize operations to meet business and plant goals and all KPIs (Health, Environmental, Safety & Security, Production, Cost, Quality, Energy, Reliability).
- Implement best practices to optimize operations and ensure the most effective technology is understood and utilized.
- Participate in advanced troubleshooting and coach others; document findings in plant operating discipline.
- Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low‑cost, quality products.
- Initiate changes to plant operating procedures with technical experts and technicians; keep procedures valid and up‑to‑date.
- Collaborate with other engineers on‑site and globally to leverage knowledge on plant operations.
- Communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, technology or expertise centers.
- Provide high‑level leadership and direction in day‑to‑day decision making for the operating area of responsibility.
- Implement process improvements supporting reduction of variation, capacity, and yield improvement.
- Monitor and improve raw material variability.
- Conduct and participate in root cause analysis, FMEA, etc. when required.
- Serve as the plant Asset Utilization Focal Point; drive rate changes and optimize profiles to meet production goals while increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Maintain asset utilization database; enter production data to calculate OEE.
- Provide technical support for projects.
- Respond to plant upsets as needed.
- Adhere strongly to the management of change process to ensure thorough reviews, adequate risk assessment, and proper training before implementing changes.
Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success
- BS in Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in operations at a chemical facility.
- Experience with Technology and Process Safety in a chemical facility.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement: Six Sigma and LEAN; certifications preferred.
- Understanding of business fundamentals to improve unit financial performance.
