We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and creative Lead Production Support Project to join our Cognitive/AI Automation Support team, supporting AI solutions using Java/J2EE across our 450+ customer base. This role requires independent execution, hands-on technical leadership, ownership, and responsibility for customer success.

The Manager of Development/Support is expected to be resourceful in executing support tasks swiftly, maintaining high-quality coding standards. This varied role offers exposure to a wide range of technologies and requires a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and delivering quality products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, support, and automate applications using Java/J2EE and related technologies.
• Provide technical leadership to small development teams working on Java and web applications.
• Perform hands-on technical leadership, including coding when needed.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Prepare effort and cost estimates, ensuring minimal deviation from plans.
• Provide technical designs and documentation for business problems.
• Meet project timelines and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Set up development, testing, support, and production environments.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs proactively.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices.
• Support AI application deployment in production.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science required; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of enterprise application development and support experience.
• At least 6 years’ experience with Java/J2EE.
• 3+ years’ experience leading small agile teams.
• Strong experience with RESTful Web Services, Spring/Jersey, ORM (JPA/Hibernate), SQL Server, and cloud hosting.
• Web development skills with HTML5, CSS, AJAX/JQuery, AngularJS/Dojo.
• Experience with CI/Build tools like Maven, Ant, Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development, design patterns, application servers, UNIX scripting.
• Experience with cognitive technologies (IBM Watson, Amazon Alexa, Microsoft LUIS) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with SDLC, deploying solutions across environments, and contact center platforms is preferred.
