Job summary

Amazon Devices-Hardware in Sunnyvale is seeking a Sr. Product Design Engineer responsible for leading a design team and delivering integrated mechanical systems for consumer devices.

You will design dynamic mechanisms, perform feature design, and drive cross-functional programs focusing on performance, cost, and size targets. The role requires 7+ years in design with strong 3D CAD skills (Creo), plus experience integrating modules (I/O, cameras, sensors, displays, batteries, PCBs).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (Creo or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience in designing products for consumer, enterprise or industrial use.
  • Demonstrated design experience integrating component modules (I/O, Cameras, Sensors, Displays, Batteries, PCBs, etc.).
  • Analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of Six Sigma, DOE or similar disciplines.
  • This position will require international travel; ~15%.

Basic Qualifications
  • - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • - Master’s degree
  • - Experience in designing consumer electronics
  • - Experience designing for high volume manufacturing
  • - Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with all disciplines involved in specifying and engineering complex electronic products (for example, Industrial Design, Product Management, Electrical Engineering, Design Integrity, Tooling & Process Engineering, etc.)
  • - Expertise in AI, and increasing your productivity or skills in engineering through its utilization.
  • - Demonstrated knowledge of design specification, and validation using tolerance analysis and critical parameter management.
  • - Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing technologies, and design for manufacturability.
  • - Product validation experience (Shock/Drop, Environmental Testing, etc...)
  • - Proven track record as an individual contributor or manager of engineering teams through the whole development cycle (concept to production)
  • - Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills
  • - High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to turn broad program objectives into actionable design initiatives

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
