Fresenius Kabi USA is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead sourcing and supplier management across assigned categories, supporting manufacturing operations. You will drive cost optimization, supplier performance, and continuity of supply while adhering to regulatory and corporate standards.

The role partners with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to execute strategies, manage relationships, and support critical initiatives. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5–10 years of procurement/purchasing experience in industrial or medical production.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to travel 30%.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Buy commodities, lead execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with production timelines, cost targets, and plant-specific constraints.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure best terms and quality.
• Manage supplier selection decision making and supplier awarding.
• Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, including development and execution of SOWs.
• Develop plans to establish continuity of supply for plant builds and spare parts.
• Ensure quality, delivery, order accuracy, and competitive pricing through supplier follow-up.
• Visit suppliers to assess capability and meet requirements; interact with all levels of supplier management.
• Maintain SAP purchasing data to generate MRP; work with SAP Data Administration to create material numbers and vendor profiles.
• Coach, train and mentor other employees.

Job description

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading end-to-end sourcing and supplier management activities across assigned categories in support of manufacturing operations. This role drives cost optimization, supplier performance, and supply continuity while ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

The position partners cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and support business-critical initiatives. This role operates with a high degree of independence, managing complex sourcing events and contributing to category-level planning and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Buy commodities, lead execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with production timelines, cost targets, and plant-specific operational and regulatory constraints.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and quality.
• Manage supplier selection decision making and supplier awarding.
• Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, including development and execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring alignment with business requirements, cost objectives, risk mitigation, and regulatory/compliance standards.
• Develop plans to establish continuity of supply in support of plant build plans and spare part demand plans..
• Ensure quality, delivery, order accuracy, and competitive pricing through continuous follow-up with suppliers and end users.
• Makes recommendations on the use of alternate materials, evaluate and provide feedback on supplier performance.
• Visits suppliers to assess supplier capability to meet quality, delivery and strategic requirements. Must deal with all levels of supplier management.
• Conducts all purchasing activities in compliance with company policy and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements, and ethical standard.
• Maintain SAP system purchasing data to ensure MRP requirements are generated in a proper manner.
• Work with SAP Data Administration team to create material numbers and vendor profiles in SAP.
• Coaches, trains and mentor other employees i.e. Procurement Specialists.

Requirements

• The Company's primary business language is English. The successful candidate must be able to effectively speak, read, write, and understand English to perform the essential functions of the position, including independently understanding policies, procedures, training materials, and workplace communications written in English due to our heavily regulated work environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5-10 years' experience in procurement, purchasing in the industrial or medical application of production goods
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Good Knowledge of SAP ERP
• Strong decision-making skills and high sense of urgency
• Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Must have the ability to travel a minimum of 30% of the time and have the ability to obtain a valid passport.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels within the organization and with outside vendors/ suppliers
