Overview
The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for driving ISACA’s global sourcing and procurement functions across all business units and affiliated entities. This role goes beyond transactional purchasing, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and a key partner in advancing ISACA’s operational and financial objectives. The Senior Procurement Specialist follows sourcing strategies, leads complex negotiations with vendors, and ensures the organization secures best-in-class products and services that balance quality, cost, compliance, and risk.
Working closely with the Senior Manager, Vendor Management this role ensures timely and compliant contract execution while championing sourcing best practices across the enterprise. The Senior Procurement Specialist provides expertise and guidance to business units, enabling them to make informed sourcing decisions aligned with ISACA’s Procurement Policy, values, and long-term strategy.
This position plays a pivotal role in building and managing high-impact vendor relationships, driving measurable cost savings, and embedding sourcing excellence into ISACA’s culture. By aligning procurement strategies with organizational priorities, the Senior Procurement Specialist ensures ISACA achieves sustainable value, operational efficiency, and enhanced vendor performance in support of its mission.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Operations
Focus: Managing the full procurement lifecycle — from sourcing and vendor selection to negotiation and contract compliance.
Includes:
- Manage day-to-day sourcing and procurement activities for ISACA and its affiliated entities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify sourcing requirements and assist the business unit with qualified vendors.
- Lead RFQs and RFPs to secure competitive pricing and quality service delivery.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate vendor pricing, terms, and timelines in alignment with organizational standards.
- Partner with the CLM team to support accurate and timely contract execution.
- Ensure sourcing decisions and contract terms comply with organizational standards and policies.
- Monitor supplier performance and market conditions to inform sourcing decisions.
Vendor Relationship Management
Focus: Building, maintaining, and improving relationships with vendors to ensure optimal service delivery and issue resolution. Includes:
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, assist the primary business contact and Vendor Manager with performance issue escalations.
- Act as a liaison between ISACA and 3rd parties to drive improvements in vendor quality, service delivery, and negotiate favorable terms.
Compliance, Training & Continuous Improvement
Focus: Ensuring adherence to procurement standards while driving efficiency and process improvements. Includes:
- Provide training and guidance to business unit stakeholders on the Procurement Policy.
- Enforce procurement standards across the organization to ensure compliance.
- Lead continual process improvement initiatives, including streamlining internal processes and cost savings.
- Support process documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to cost-savings, efficiency projects, and other special assignments as directed.
Qualifications
Minimum Level of Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field from an accredited university, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive professional experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role or capacity, with a demonstrated record of success.
Description of Minimum Relevant Experience Required:
- Demonstrated success managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including supplier identification, competitive bidding, vendor evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Experience supporting complex sourcing initiatives that balance cost, quality, service delivery, and compliance.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply procurement policies, legal terms, and compliance standards while ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Strong experience partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and departmental leaders to advise on procurement strategies and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Skilled in using procurement or ERP systems, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, and advanced Excel or analytics tools to track performance and optimize processes.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze spend data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare reporting to inform leadership decisions
Preferred Level of Education:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline from an accredited university, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive professional experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
Preferred Years of Experience:
- 8+ years as a purchaser, buyer, sourcing, contracting, or other related roles, with a demonstrated record of success.
Description of Preferred Relevant Experience:
- Experience leading procurement strategies in a global, nonprofit, or professional services environment.
- Proven record of managing high-value or multi-year vendor contracts and achieving measurable savings or performance improvements.
- Familiarity with advanced procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, Workday) and data-driven decision-making tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk mitigation, vendor performance management, and contract compliance monitoring.
- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and develop supplier partnerships that align with organizational objectives.
- Knowledge of ethical sourcing standards, supplier diversity initiatives, and sustainable procurement practices.
Certification and Licensing Preferred:
- Lean Six Sigma, Process Improvement, and/or Project Management Professional
Minimum Competencies and/or Skills Required to perform this position:
- In depth understanding of sourcing and procurement industry, techniques, and market conditions
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Willingness to learn and improve, as wells as coach customers through change
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently with minimal direction in a fast paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel or Power BI a plus. Familiarity with systems such as JIRA, Oracle NetSuite, or Conga preferred.
Occasional travel may be required to attend company-sponsored events, meetings, or all-hands gatherings.
