Hours:
40 hrs per week, overtime on an infrequent basis, typical hours 8:00am to 5:00 pm with a one-hour lunch break
Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will be an integral part of the Purchasing team, continuously improving the buying process while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This role is based in our Thornton, CO facility and will support both the CO and OK facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, execute, and enter purchase orders based on MRP requirements.
- Develop sourcing strategies through analysis of spend data, supply market dynamics, category intelligence, and business needs to optimize the supply base and improve cost, quality, and service.
- Expedite delivery of goods during shortages and communicate outcomes to production. Recognize critical shortages and communicate immediately to management, working to find solutions.
- Negotiate complex global contracts; strong negotiation skills are essential.
- Request Return Materials Authorizations (RMA) for rejected materials and process related paperwork promptly. Identify quality issues and request corrective actions.
- Analyze data to identify issues and develop creative, effective solutions.
- Design and implement strategies to rationalize the supply base and maximize spend value.
- Partner with Quality to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research invoice discrepancies and collaborate with suppliers to resolve variances.
- Update all purchase order changes promptly.
- Communicate effectively with internal customers and management.
- Implement internal changes due to ECNs/ECOs, communicate with suppliers, and manage transitions or EOL activities.
- Follow up on supplier commitments regarding deliveries, corrective actions, sample requests, and discrepancies.
Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to execute defined supplier strategies (Exit, Leverage, Maintain). Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of MRP systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Supply chain-related experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to analyze data and translate into actionable steps.
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Results-oriented with a proactive approach.
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent training preferred.
Salary:
$75,000 - $85,000
