Job description

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required (Plastic Processing degree is preferred).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry, with at least 5 years of high-volume injection molding and assembly process engineering experience.
  • RJG Master Molder 2 required. Trainer certification preferred. Working knowledge of hydraulic and electric molding machines required.
  • Thorough knowledge of SIM and in-mold pressure transducers and their application required.
  • Basic knowledge and skill in using Statistical Process Control, along with the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, is required.
  • Must have knowledge of injection molding manufacturing processes, and the ability to handle ambiguity, drive results, pay attention to detail, implement change, and communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Assess process capabilities, innovate, and implement process improvements on key projects with divisional impact.
  • Apply technical knowledge to design and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and automation.
  • Develop and maintain qualified injection molding production lines.
  • Train and provide guidance to technicians and manufacturing personnel as needed during validation processes.
  • Participate as a core team member on new product and transfer projects.
  • Engage in concept review and development of new injection-molded products and tooling, providing input to improve manufacturability.
  • Review molding concerns during mold design reviews and provide resolutions.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on best practices in injection molding to incorporate into new processes.
  • Ensure validation documentation and manufacturing processes comply with Gerresheimer Quality system requirements.
  • Use statistical methods to forecast manufacturing needs and potential improvements.
  • Identify initiatives for cost reduction, material flow improvement, capacity evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; occasional travel to offshore locations may be required up to 25%.
