Job summary

Ocean Spray is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to lead scale-up and qualification of new products at our Lakeville, MA headquarters. This hybrid role includes close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to drive design and process improvements.

Required 5+ years in chemical/process engineering or R&D, with strong problem-solving and data analysis skills (Python or similar). Travel up to 50% and a passion for innovation and engineering excellence are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in process engineering or R&D, preferably in food/beverage.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; familiarity with Python or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute process engineering expertise to cross-functional teams for design, scale-up and qualification of new products and processes.
  • Lead validation, commissioning of processes at OS and partner facilities, collaborating with RDS peers.
  • Identify and implement process modifications to improve yields, throughput, and utility savings.
  • Develop and run pilot-plant experiments and collaborate with vendors for scale-up and new tech exploration.
  • Maintain awareness of engineering codes and best practices, and lead cross-functional projects.

Position Location

We're all about flexibility! This will be a hybrid role based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA with Mondays and Fridays remote.

A Day in the Life

Contribute process engineering expertise to cross functional teams to inform successful design, scale up, and qualification of new products and processes.

Lead technical assessment, validation, and commissioning of processes at OS and partner manufacturing facilities, collaborating with RDS functional peers to meet business objectives.

Identify, validate and implement modifications to processes to improve production yields, throughput of batching and thermal processing, utility savings, process control, and other relevant operational targets.

Apply standard engineering techniques in the analysis of existing operational areas from raw materials to finished packages to troubleshoot process related production challenges and recommend corrective actions.

Lead design, development, and execution of experiments in the pilot-plant and with strategic vendor partners to inform process scale up, troubleshooting, research, and new technology exploration.

Develop and implement process specifications, standards and best practices in collaboration with operations and cross functional subject matter experts.

Maintain an up-to-date awareness of Federal, State, and Local engineering codes, regulations, and industry best practices.

What We Are Looking For

Required Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or equivalent 5+ years of relevant experience in process engineering or R&D, preferably in food/beverage.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Creative thinker with a passion for Innovation, problem solving, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Highly organized, adaptable, self-starter able to effectively manage multiple projects.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead cross functional project teams.

Preferred Experience with data analysis and visualization in Python or similar tools.

Education: Bachelor's or University Degree (Required)

Work Experience: At least 5 Years of Experience

Annual Salary: $96,200 - $120,200
