Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with chemical industry experience.
  • 7–10 years of process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing.

  • Proven success leading process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with process modeling, statistics, data visualization, or related tools.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management, hazard analysis (HAZOP), MOC, PSSR, and risk assessment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce waste, improve yield, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analyze chemical manufacturing processes using data-driven methods to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
  • Provide senior-level technical support to plant operations and troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues in real time.
  • Lead root cause analyses involving process deviations, equipment failures, safety incidents, and product quality concerns.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve process reliability.
  • Develop and maintain P&IDs, SOPs, PFDs, operating parameters, and other technical documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Monitor key process metrics, develop dashboards, and recommend adjustments to maintain stable operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, process safety and internal company standards.
  • Lead or participate in process hazard analyses, MOC, PSSR, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, R&D, production, and EHS teams.
  • Provide technical leadership for new product introductions, process changes, and plant improvement projects.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment upgrades, and automation solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, vendors, contractors, and technical deliverables.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and serve as a technical resource for production leadership.

Senior Process Engineer

Location:Brazil, IN The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $155,000 per year. However, if you possess additional valuable skill sets that could benefit the enterprise, you may be eligible for higher compensation. We encourage strong technical candidates to apply without hesitation.

Position Overview

VALiNTRY is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead the optimization, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing operations within a chemical production environment. This position will be responsible for improving process efficiency, increasing throughput, maintaining product quality, supporting safe plant operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

The ideal candidate has seven to ten years of engineering experience and brings strong technical judgment, project leadership, and hands-on chemical manufacturing expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce waste, improve yield, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analyze chemical manufacturing processes using data-driven methods to identify bottlenecks, process variability, and optimization opportunities.
  • Provide senior-level technical support to plant operations and troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues in real time.
  • Lead root cause analyses involving process deviations, equipment failures, safety incidents, and product quality concerns.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve process reliability.
  • Develop and maintain P&IDs, standard operating procedures, process flow diagrams, operating parameters, and other technical documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Monitor key process metrics, develop performance dashboards, and recommend adjustments to maintain stable and efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, process safety, environmental, and internal company standards.
  • Lead or participate in process hazard analyses, Management of Change reviews, Pre Startup Safety Reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, research and development, production, and environmental health and safety teams.
  • Provide technical leadership for new product introductions, process changes, equipment installations, and plant improvement projects.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment upgrades, and automation solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, vendors, contractors, and technical deliverables.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and serve as a technical resource for production and plant leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Candidates with a Mechanical Engineering degree must have relevant chemical industry experience.
  • Seven to ten years of process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or a related industrial environment.
  • Experience with batch processing, continuous processing, or other chemical production operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with process modeling, statistical analysis, data visualization, or related engineering tools.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management, hazard analysis, HAZOP, Management of Change, Pre Startup Safety Review, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience managing engineering projects, budgets, vendors, or contractors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with production employees, technical teams, vendors, contractors, and plant leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean or Six Sigma training or certification.
  • Experience implementing automation, controls, or manufacturing technology upgrades.
  • Experience supporting capital improvement projects and new product introductions.
  • Previous experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership within a manufacturing facility.
