Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join the Systems Integration & Test Long Range Radars team and support X-Band radar technology. You will lead a small group of radar systems engineers, coordinating with program management, IPT, and customers to ensure successful analysis, testing, and delivery of radar solutions.

The role requires a STEM degree with 10+ years of experience, strong MATLAB/Python/C/C++ skills, and hands-on systems engineering and radar data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Linux, Unix, shell scripting and/or other programming languages.
  • Experience with systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation and/or system testing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of all scope of work assigned to the radar sustaining engineering teams, determine the allocation of personnel within the team to perform that work, and review and approve any SI&T deliverables before delivery to the customer.
  • Support program growth through the deployment and continuous improvement of people, processes, and tools.
  • Lead internal status meetings with systems and site engineers and develop weekly technical status and issue reports.
  • Support maintenance event planning with site team, Logistics, and Maintenance planning.
  • Provide guidance to systems and site engineers in development of fault isolation procedures, identification of root cause, and implementation of candidate corrective actions.
  • Interact with Program Managers, Business Development, Directorate Managers, and Business Area VPs to achieve business objectives.
  • Willingness for 10% local and non-local travel including experience with domestic and foreign military sales products.

Raytheon's Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team Systems Integration & Test Long Range Radars Department within the Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities Directorate who will support X-Band Radar technology. The Radar Systems Engineer will be the primary point-of-contact for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) deployed radars. The SI&T Sustaining Engineering Technical Lead will be the primary SI&T interface to the customer community, program management, the integrated product team (IPT), the chief engineer and other stakeholders. The individual in this role leads a small team of Radar Systems Engineers in their analysis, reporting of radar performance, and development of troubleshooting and corrective action plans for a range of issues including mechanical, electrical, microwave, software and cyber security.

Salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
