Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Senior Principal Program Cost Control Analyst to join our Marine Systems team. The role supports budgeting, scheduling, and cost control for a major program, with a 9/80 schedule and travel to multiple sites as needed.

The position may be hybrid from the office site area; travel up to 25% and US citizenship required. You will collaborate with program managers, CAMs, and finance to ensure compliant cost control and funding requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related professional experience, or Master’s with 6 years.

Role

We’re looking for you to join our Marine Systems team as a Senior Principal Program Cost Control Analyst . This position may be staffed as a hybrid role from office site area. This position offers the 9/80 scheduled and may be staffed from the following sites with noted expectations:

• Sunnyvale, CA - Preferred site, 10% travel
• San Diego, Woodland Hills, Redondo Beach or McClellan, CA - travel to Sunnyvale, CA required (25% time)
• Colorado Springs, CA - West Coast working hours required, travel to Sunnyvale, CA required (25% time)

What You’ll Get To Do

The Senior Principal Program Cost Control Analyst (PCA) will support a program in the Machinery Operating Unit reporting to a Program Business Manager.

The PCA will interface with the program managers, functional management, cost account managers (CAMs) and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements. They will will prepare budgets and schedules for contract work and assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.

The PCA will monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system. This will include performing perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis/ assessment and visibility reports, development, and analysis of estimates to complete.

The PCA will perform analysis and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines, including maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.

The PCA will support audits and reviews as requested by programs, customers, and company management, support Annual Operating Plan, Resource Plan, and Long Range Strategic Plan activity, and prepare financial inputs to internal reports and presentations (IPRS, Dashboards, BARs, Etc.)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master's degree with 6 years of related professional experience
• Will consider 12 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement.
• Experience with financial systems including cost performance reporting and analysis
• Experience with Earned Value and performance measurement baseline concepts and ability to apply them to multiple contracts, CLINs and control accounts.
• Strong PC skills - specifically Excel proficiency (including pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting)
• Ability to travel domestically 25% of the time.
• US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related field
• Experience with COBRA, COGNOS, SAP
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
