Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Production Operations professional to join the Baltimore team.

You will serve as the primary liaison for manufacturing strategy across program management, and oversee product development, test, global supply chain, and mission assurance activities. You will lead program reviews with internal and external customers, drive productivity and schedule performance, and coordinate proposals, master production schedules, and material planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years in Project/Program Management or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Master's degree with 6 years in Project Management or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience with project leadership and/or process improvement
  • Experience with EVMS, Proposal Preparation, and/or IMS development
  • Experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems
  • Experience troubleshooting and developing creative solutions to meet customer demands
  • Experience driving continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities
  • Experience leading people and/or projects directly or indirectly
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and SAP
  • U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Assess project and technical issues and develop action plans and resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction goals
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers, engineering, suppliers, line/cell managers, and customers
  • Coordinate and lead the preparation of proposals; prepares and reviews all manufacturing Basis of Estimate justifications, creates master production schedules, and coordinates material planning and production scheduling
  • Drive continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities

What You’ll Get to Do

Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline; Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Experience with project leadership and/or process improvement
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Proposal Preparation, and/or Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development
  • Experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems
  • Experience troubleshooting and developing creative solutions to meet customer demands
  • Experience driving continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities
  • Experience leading people and/or projects directly or indirectly
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and SAP (Special Access Programs)
  • U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active/Current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management
  • Experience communicating with executive leadership (Director or VP level)
  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
