Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Production Operations professional for the AMC OU, based in Baltimore, MD. The role is 100% on-site, focusing on overseeing program interfaces across PMO, Manufacturing, and Engineering to meet cost and schedule targets.

You will lead manufacturing-related risk reviews, track product-level requirements, and support proposal efforts for new work, while leveraging EVMS and IMS practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of program management or manufacturing engineering experience; or Master's with 3 years; or 9 years in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement.
  • Experience liaising between disciplines to solve complex problems with limited resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day interfaces and communications between PMO, Manufacturing, Test, MRP, MA, SCM, Engineering, and Shipping.
  • Achieve targeted cost and schedule requirements.
  • Facilitate internal meetings to support design, production, and problem resolution.
  • Report EVMS and serve as CAM for manufacturing projects.
  • Lead or participate on a product team with reqs analysis, engineering and manufacturing of assigned products.
  • Represent manufacturing at risk reviews and manage manufacturing risks from the program risk register.
  • Support and generate proposal documentation to foster new work.

Principal Production Operations within the Advanced Mission Capabilities (AMC) Restricted OU based out of Baltimore, MD.

This position is 100% on-site.

What You’ll Get To Do
  • Managing and maintaining the day-to-day interfaces and communications between the assigned Program Management Office (PMO), Manufacturing, Test, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Mission Assurance (MA), Supply Chain (SCM), Engineering, and Shipping
  • Achieving targeted cost and schedule requirements
  • Facilitating internal meetings in a way to support design, production, and problem resolutions
  • Reporting Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and serving as the Cost Account Management (CAM) for manufacturing projects
  • Leading or participating on a product team, responsible for product-level requirements analysis, engineering and manufacturing of the products assigned, product tracking, and product visibility
  • Representing manufacturing at the program Risk Review Board (RRB) meetings and creating / managing any applicable manufacturing risks and/or opportunities from the program risk register
  • Supporting and generating proposal documentation as needed to foster new work
Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline; Master’s degree with 3 years of work experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline; 9 years of experience in Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement
  • Experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems with limited resources in a timely manner
  • Active/Current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and/or a Project Management field
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Basis of Estimate preparation, and/or Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Manufacturing experience of defense related electronics
  • Technical project management through different parts of the program/project life cycle
  • Experience working diverse contract types (CPFF. CPIF, FFP)
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Investigation type activities
  • Experience with data mining/manipulation & presentation
  • Expertise in executive leadership (Director or VP level) communication and engagement

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
