Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Network Engineer in San Diego, CA to drive enterprise-wide digital transformation using Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices for defense capabilities.

The role involves consulting in advanced information technologies, hardware/software installation, cyber compliance, system upgrades, and cross-disciplinary problem solving with occasional travel for installations and demos.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; OR 6 years with a Masters; OR 4 years with STEM PhD.
• Experience with multi-vendor Segment Routing including SR-MPLS or SRv6 with automated traffic engineering and QoS.
• Experience Operating Cisco SDWAN and Juniper Session Smart Router fabrics including conductor failover.
• Knowledge of high-performance fabrics including InfiniBand and RoCE or RDMA for AI and ML cluster networking.
• Ability to construct and operate digital twin networks for pre-deployment validation and resilience testing.
• Experience building and operating STIG automation including drift detection, reporting, and mitigation tooling.
• Must be a US Citizen; Clearance: Secret required.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a consultant in highly specialized information technologies and methodologies.
• Perform hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Comply with cyber requirements, including routine system checks for antivirus, logging, and network services.
• Recommend and implement approved system enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
• Solve complex problems across Agile, Networking, and Software environments.
• Travel for system installations, test support, and customer demos.
