Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Network Engineer in San Diego, CA. You will contribute to enterprise digital transformation with DevSecOps and Model-based Engineering, focusing on secure, automated, and scalable network solutions.

The role requires strong cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Python skills, plus the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance. Occasional travel is expected; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related field with experience; or advanced degree.
• Experience applying Zero Trust and identity-based policy enforcement to networks.
• Familiarity with SASE concepts and SD-WAN/cloud security convergence.
• Experience designing/operating networks in two or more cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google).
• Kubernetes networking knowledge including CNI, ingress, and NetworkPolicy.
• Experience with Terraform for cloud and on‑prem network infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of intent-based and AIOps for predictive network operations.
• Experience with network infra as code and CI/CD integration.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑level consulting on cutting‑edge information technologies.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
• Ensure compliance with cyber requirements and routine security checks.
• Propose system enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in Agile networking environments.
• Travel for system installations, test support, and customer demos.
