Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Sr. Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing, developing, implementing, verifying and testing GNC algorithms and software for aircraft guidance and control.

The position requires a BS+8 years (or MS+6, or PhD+4) in STEM, ability to obtain US Secret clearance, and travel up to 10%. Primary salary range is $142,200–$213,400 with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opportunities for a Sr. Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA!

Duties Include:

• Designs, develops, implements, verifies, and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft
• Statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
• Formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation, or orbit.
• Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal GNC Engineer:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline with 4 years of related engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

• Active US Government Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
