Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer for our El Segundo, CA site. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and validating GNC algorithms and software, supported by simulation tools to meet aircraft performance goals.

You will work on control law development, data processing, and model refinement, ensuring compliance with security and program access requirements for sensitive systems.

Qualifications

• BSc in a STEM field with extensive related engineering experience or MSc/PhD equivalents.
• Active US Government Secret clearance is required or obtainable.
• Experience designing, implementing, testing guidance, navigation and control algorithms.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opportunities for a Staff Guidance Navigation Control Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA!

Duties Include:

• Designs, develops, implements, verifies, and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft
• Statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
• Formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation, or orbit.
• Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft.

Basic Qualifications for Staff GNC Engineer:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

• Active US Government Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
