Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Engineering CAD Administrator to join the Configuration Management team. In this hands‑on role you will administer the Teamcenter CAD system and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Drafting to develop CAD standards and validate 3D models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant work experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of relevant work experience
• 5 years of Product Data/Document Management (PDM) experience in an engineering environment using Teamcenter or equivalent (CAD Admin)
• 6 years of hands‑on CREO CAD modeling experience
• Well versed in Teamcenter as an administrator and user
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understanding of ANSI/ASME Y14.5 and Y14.100

Responsibilities

• Manage the CAD System (Teamcenter) database to ensure data accuracy as CAD Administrator
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Engineering and Drafting for CREO and Teamcenter, including coaching and mentoring
• Check 3D model design for compliance against engineering drawings or specifications, verifying soundness of design and capability of fit between components
• Automate processes and standardize through workflows, templates, and other means
• Provide administration for CAD software applications, resolve end‑user issues, and ensure end‑user compliance with engineering modeling and drafting standards
• Develop and implement CREO modeling standards for standard parts, templates, formats, and configuration files
• Implement and maintain CREO Check‑Mate to meet current business needs
• Validate released CAD models against released drawings from simple to complex geometry and dimensional accuracy and ASME standards before releasing to Manufacturing for production

Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Sr Principal Engineering CAD Administrator to join the Configuration Management team. In this hands‑on technical role, you will administer the Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) System, Siemens Teamcenter, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Drafting departments to develop CAD standards, validate engineering 3D models, and provide subject‑matter expertise on modeling techniques.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 8 years of relevant work experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of relevant work experience
• 5 years of Product Data/Document Management (PDM) experience in an engineering environment using Teamcenter or equivalent (CAD Admin)
• 6 years of hands‑on CREO CAD modeling experience
• Well versed in Teamcenter as an administrator and user
• Ability to create and read engineering drawings, and understanding of ANSI/ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100
• Proficient in validating an engineering model (simple part to complex assembly) based on 2D drawing
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Strong knowledge of data integrity, data security, and long‑term data storage
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with other departments
• U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with implementing new PLM systems, including designing new workflows within Teamcenter
• Experience migrating large populations of data in Teamcenter (from other PDM/PLM systems)
• 3+ years of NX CAD as a user and administrator
• Experience in Design/Drafting/Documentation (ASME Y 14.100) and knowledge of Configuration Management practices (Revision Control)
• Knowledge and understanding of Document Control
• Possess analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Deep knowledge of CAD design flows
• Self‑motivated

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
