Job summary

RTX's Pratt & Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer with MBSE experience to lead development, integration, and maturation of system models for military engine programs. The candidate will mentor teams and drive MBSE process improvements within a digital engineering framework.

You will coordinate requirements analysis, logical/physical architectures, interfaces, verification planning, and system integration across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Experience leading small cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience in systems engineering roles, or familiarity with systems engineering methods.
• Experience using a SysML tool (IBM Rhapsody, Cameo/Magic Draw, or equivalent).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Systems Engineering Models to perform systems engineering tasks including requirements analysis, architectures, interfaces, verification planning, trade studies, system integration.
• Coordinate with leadership, team members, and other teams in a highly matrixed organization.
• Participate in customer and/or internal gate reviews throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate extended team model development efforts and enforce engineering best practices and compliance with EDSI standard work.

What You Will Do:

Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience, to support next generation propulsion programs. The candidate will be responsible for leading the development, integration, and maturation of system models for one or more military engine programs. Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney's digital transformation initiatives to serve as a technical leader, mentor, and strategic contributor driving MBSE process improvements in systems engineering. This position provides the opportunity to influence and develop cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for military propulsion programs. Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.

• Lead the development of Systems Engineering Models as a subject matter expert in order to perform systems engineering tasks including: Requirements analysis, defining logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, verification planning, trade studies, system integration

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Background in propulsion, gas turbine systems, or mission‑critical aerospace applications.
• Proficiency in Cameo Systems Modeler or Cameo Enterprise Architect
• Knowledge of MBSE best practices
• Certification in systems engineering and/or SysML (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, OCSMP)
• Proficiency with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
• Experience writing proposals, generating basis of estimates
• Active Secret clearance
