Job summary

RTX/Pratt & Whitney CDS (Controls & Diagnostics Systems) seeks a Senior Principal Engineer to lead software development and verification for engine control and diagnostic systems. You will work in a DevSecOps environment, perform trade studies, and participate in agile ceremonies while guiding requirements and design in a cross-disciplinary team.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, strong engineering background, and experience with Matlab/Simulink, scripting, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 10 years engineering experience or an advanced Degree with 7 years prior engineering experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is required and ability to obtain DoD security clearance; DoD Clearance: Secret is required.

What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support, including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, product software design, verification & validation and engine and flight test support.

The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven Senior Principal Engineer to join the Engine System Software organization. The qualified candidate will be responsible for:

• Develop and/or lead support software tool development in a DevSecOps pipeline
• Participate in and/or lead process improvements
• Perform trade studies and analyze solutions
• Develop and/or lead software requirements and designs within the Agile Framework
• Perform and/or lead software verification within the Agile Framework
• Participate in and/or lead Agile ceremonies

• Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager, and/or part of the Development Team

• Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design
