Northrup Grumman, Space Systems Sector – Integrated Operations is looking for experienced Ground System Engineers - Product Owners to join the Ground System team to work with Government Customers responsible for defining capabilities to meet system requirements, managing the product backlog, and successful delivery.

Specific experience and responsibilities shall include:

  • Developing and explicitly communicating the Product Goal to the Team.
  • Creating, prioritizing, and clearly communicating Product Backlog Items.
  • Communicate cost and schedule information to the Customer.
  • Complete variance reports for cost and schedule deviances.
  • Within the product team, the Product Owner is the ‘voice of the customer,’ representing the needs of customers and the business in a Solution domain.
  • Product Owners understands what solutions and experiences are realistic to deliver.
  • The Product Owner is critical to fostering the feedback loops that inform the value stream.
  • Proficient experience managing team workflow with Jira.

This position can be filled as an Principal Engineer (level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (level 4) depending on experience and qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B. S. Computer Science, Information Systems, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Principal Systems Engineer, 5 Years with Bachelors in Science
  • Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, 9 Years with Bachelors in Science

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Secret Clearance level: Top Secret SSBI / SCI eligible
  • DoD Satcom Ground Systems Experience:
  • Experience with Agile and/or the Scaled Agile Framework
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification – Product Owner and Product Manager
  • Experience with Cost Account Management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
