Qualifications

Are you ready to lead a team and advance FPGA capabilities in defense technology?

We are looking for a decisive, collaborative technical leader who brings clarity, drives outcomes, anticipates change, and builds high-performing teams while demonstrating integrity and accountability. In this role, you will lead an FPGA engineering team to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance goals while working alongside top engineers in software, hardware, systems design and program management for military products based.

You’ll have a critical voice from the initial pursuit phase through development, release, and long-term sustainment, ensuring technical excellence while managing cost and schedule.

What You Will Do
  • Provide Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical resource for FPGA development activities, providing guidance and sharing knowledge with engineers across the organization.
  • Contribute to Technical Development: Support the development of FPGA solutions by applying technical expertise, evaluating design approaches, and contributing to continuous improvement throughout the FPGA development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with engineers, engineering leaders, program managers, and shared services to develop and deliver FPGA solutions and support cross-functional project objectives.
  • Drive Engineering Excellence: Develop and implement FPGA solutions that meet customer and program requirements while applying engineering best practices and supporting product line objectives.
  • Support Business Growth: Provide technical expertise and support proposal and pursuit activities, including technical content, estimates, and customer presentations as needed.
  • Support Program Execution: Manage assigned technical activities and deliverables across one or more programs, helping ensure technical objectives, schedules, and program commitments are met.
  • Ensure Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure FPGA development activities follow Collins standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while identifying opportunities to improve processes and technical execution.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • At least 5+ years experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration in a technical development environment
  • Experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management
  • At least 5+ years experience with FPGA/ASIC development

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
