The Mission Systems FPGA/ASIC and Foundational Software team is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the development of advanced FPGA and ASIC technologies supporting next-generation radio applications. In this role, you will drive projects from planning and scheduling through execution and completion, partnering across engineering, program management, and customer teams to deliver innovative solutions on time and within budget. Our team develops cost-competitive, high-performance technologies that differentiate Collins Aerospace in the aerospace and defense industry. Our products support a broad range of applications across commercial and military avionics and ground vehicle platforms, providing an opportunity to work on complex technologies with real-world impact. We are looking for an action-oriented, collaborative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment and is motivated by delivering results. You will serve as the engineering focal point for project execution, ensuring technical performance commitments are met while coordinating design and development activities across multiple stakeholders. You may also have opportunities to lead customer-facing efforts, including bids, proposals, and technical presentations. What You Will Do
  • Serve as Project Engineering for FPGA/ASIC and Foundational Software programs to ensure internal and customer commitments are met
  • Provide project management direction during all program phases including pursuit, bidding, planning, and execution
  • Track and report cost and schedule status
  • Ensure compliance with Program and Product requirements as reflected in design plans
  • Lead a wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers
  • Travel up to 10% annually
Qualifications

You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Experience managing technical projects including schedule and Earned Value management, risk management, customer interaction, and briefing leadership 2+ years of experience communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and/or customers. 2+ years of experience working in an Agile development environment.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
