Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced RF/Electrical Engineer to develop modules for wireless applications.

You will design, simulate, and produce support for RF/microwave power amplifiers, creating input/output/interstage matching networks to optimize gain, efficiency, bandwidth, and linearity. You will collaborate with filter and switch designers and work with product engineering to improve yields and bring new products to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of RF semiconductor experience required.
• ADS and HFSS EM simulation experience required.
• Experience in RF circuit design and RF measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, develop, and provide production support for RF and microwave power amplifiers used in wireless communications.
• Design input, output, and interstage matching networks to optimize gain, efficiency, bandwidth and linearity.
• Interface with filter and switch designers; collaborate with product engineering to improve yields and introduce new products to manufacturing.
• Use tools such as ADS and HFSS for design and module laminate; act as technical leader to ensure robust designs for high-volume production.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

• Work in a fast-paced team environment developing modules for wireless communications applications. Job responsibilities include design, simulation, development, characterization, and production support of RF and microwave power amplifiers used in wireless communications. Design input, output, and interstage matching networks to optimize gain, efficiency, bandwidth, and linearity. Conduct load-pull, source-pull, harmonic balance, stability, and EM simulations.
• The position will interface with filter designers and and Switch designer and working with product engineering to improve yields and help introduce new products to manufacturing.
• Simulation tools such as Agilent ADS, and HFSS will be used for design and Module laminate.
• Act as liaison between design engineering, product engineering and characterization engineering to ensure designs are robust and have margin for high volume production.
• Responsible for all aspects of circuit design and product development, including working as a technical leader with team to find optimum solutions to the problems, feedback on specification and assigning work responsibility to RF technicians.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills

• M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in RF semiconductors is a must, laminate experience desirable.
• ADS, and HFSS EM simulation experience is a mandatory.
• Experience in RF circuit design.
• Must be experienced with RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.

Desired Experience And Skills

• Excellent speaking, presentation skills a must, ability to clearly communicate technical and/or logistic issues and solutions.
• Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products.
• Be able to enjoy working in fast paced work environment.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $135,900 - $295,000 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
