Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has multiple Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead roles in Linthicum, MD, focusing on transitioning designs to production for a high‑priority program. The team interfaces with factory test cells, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, delivering progress briefs to leadership.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for several Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads with hardware design and manufacturing experience. These positions are located in Linthicum, MD.

This IPT Lead will be required to lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time‑critical elements and high management visibility. They will interface with personnel in the factory test cells, Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. In addition, they will brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.

The selected candidate will perform in a fast‑paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidate is expected to be self‑motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

These roles are contingent upon candidates having an Active Secret government clearance, maintaining this level of clearance and obtaining an SAP clearance for continued employment.

Basic Qualification for Sr. Principal Deputy Chief Engineer

• Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 8 years of industry experience, or Masters degree and 6 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years’ experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Active and current Secret government clearance
• 6-month minimum experience with hardware design and/or hardware integration & test
• 6-month minimum experience in the BWI production factory and/or factory test cell(s)
• Demonstrated proficiency in SAP
• Demonstrated leadership skills with 6-month minimum experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or other leadership role supporting a program or business function
• Available onsite at the BWI facility during first shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership skills with 6-month minimum experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or other leadership role supporting a program or business function
• Experience with REX (receiver/exciter), Processor or general RF Integration and test for hardware
• Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and customers
• Experience working with Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing
• Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
• Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process
• Experience with LRU/LRM Integration and testing for an EMD product transitioning to production
• Fluency with developing and executing project schedules
• Experience managing products in the critical path of a program
• PMP certification a plus
• Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
