Job summary

Northrop Grumman in the United States is seeking a Sr Principal Aeronautical Engineer to drive test planning, execution, and documentation for cutting edge aerospace systems. A STEM degree and an active Secret clearance are required, with possible Top Secret/SCI eligibility and occasional travel.

You will develop and peer review test procedures, participate in both formal and informal test events, and prepare technical artifacts. Flexibility for shifts is expected.

• Active US Government Secret clearance with recent background investigation or Continuous Evaluation.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in development, execution and peer review of test procedures
• Participate in both Formal and Non-Formal Test execution events
• Participate in test planning, problem report validation testing, and post testing data analysis
• Provide support in the creation of required test artifacts
• Lead potential moderate size test efforts and events in support of System Test leadership
• Attend and participate in all System Test meetings
• Experience working in high paced environments
• Willing to support multiple shifts and odd hours to accommodate testing efforts and lab schedules

Basic Qualifications

• Sr Principal Aeronautical Engineer: Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience
• Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Government SCI clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain enhanced access
• Candidate shall have experience generating technical documents and working with various software/data processing tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other various programming languages
• An understanding of common Test Engineering test methodologies and practices

Preferred Experience

• Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline
• Software test automation experience

Primary Level Salary Range

$122,800.00 - $184,200.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
