• This is not a data analyst role. This person will not be responsible for exploratory analysis or business insights generation.

• Industry experience is not required; technical expertise and leadership are the priority.

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with 7+ years of experience to lead the development and customization of on-premises Power BI solutions. This role is not a data analyst position—you will be working alongside a dedicated data analyst and focusing exclusively on report building, dashboard development, and integration into enterprise web applications.

Must Haves

• 7+ years of experience in Power BI development (with strong emphasis on on-premises environments).
• Deep understanding of Power BI Report Server, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Experience with customizing Power BI visuals and embedding them into web platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with enterprise data architectures.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior developers is a plus.

Plusses

• Familiarity with DevOps practices for BI deployments.
• Experience in building scalable BI solutions for large user bases.
• Exposure to offshore team management or cross-functional collaboration.

Day to Day

• Design, develop, and maintain on-prem Power BI reports and dashboards using Power BI Report Server.
• Customize and embed Power BI visuals into web applications, modules, and specific UI sections.
• Review and enhance 5+ existing reports, ensuring performance, usability, and visual consistency.
• Ensure seamless integration with backend systems and data sources (SQL Server, etc.).
• Maintain version control and deployment pipelines for Power BI artifacts.
• Potentially lead the build-out of an offshore Power BI development team within 6–9 months, including onboarding, mentoring, and technical oversight.
