Job summary

Audubon Companies in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Piping Designer to develop piping layouts and 3D models for capital projects. You will lead design activities, guide junior designers, and ensure designs are constructible and code-compliant from concept through construction.

Required are 10+ years of piping design experience in oil & gas, proficiency in 3D modeling (Navisworks) and ASME B31.3/4/8 knowledge, and strong P&ID understanding.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in drafting/design or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of piping design experience in oil & gas projects.

• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8, pipe supports and specs.
• Solid understanding of P&IDs, stress, and construction practices.

Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Senior Piping Designer to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Senior Piping Designer will develop detailed piping layouts and 3D models for capital projects, ensuring designs are constructible, code-compliant, and coordinated across all disciplines. You'll lead design activities, guide junior designers, and support projects from concept through construction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop piping layouts, plans, isometrics, and 3D models using tools such as E3D, or CadWorx
• Perform equipment and piping arrangement studies, ensuring accessibility, operability, and maintainability
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, and electrical disciplines to resolve interferences
• Conduct model reviews (30/60/90%) and incorporate client and constructability feedback
• Review vendor drawings and support material take-offs (MTOs) and field queries
• Mentor junior designers and check deliverables for quality and standards compliance
