Job Details

The Senior Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their services. The PT is an integral healthcare provider accountable for helping patients progress to their highest level of function. The Senior Therapist will uphold the mission, vision, and values of Jefferson Health and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and care.

Job Description
Essential Functions
  • Interacts professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, reflecting the values of Jefferson.
  • Provides comprehensive therapy evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning for a full caseload across various settings including acute care, skilled nursing facilities, acute rehab, and outpatient clinics.
  • Participates in education of students (ICE, OT level I) or full-time students.
  • Applies current literature to clinical practice through assessment and synthesis.
  • Engages in education and teaching suitable for novice clinicians.
  • Designs, organizes, and implements treatment programs to aid patient recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Uses appropriate tools and techniques to deliver safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
  • Documents all patient interactions, including treatments, progress notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
  • Assists with staff orientation, mentorship, and competency assessments for new and rotating staff.
  • Supports program development and performance improvement initiatives with managerial approval.
  • Completes ongoing professional development activities.
  • Supports departmental operations and performs other duties as assigned.
Education

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of current clinical practice.

Certifications and Licenses

Valid state license in Physical Therapy and CPR certification (American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider, BLS).
